On February 3, 2026 AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador, Matt Trochim, visited the 7th grade science classes to help them learn about our local watershed and what we can do to help maintain a healthy watershed in our community.
During the presentation they learned that we live in the Merrill Creek Watershed, which is in the Pohatcong Creek Watershed, which is part of the Delaware River Watershed. These watersheds are linked together and the water that flows through them ends up in the Atlantic Ocean.
Students also learned about how humans impact our local watershed and how we can help keep our watershed healthy.
